Celebrity Portraits created with iPad
Cheshire, U.K. based digital artist Kyle Lambert specializes in portraits rendered using an iPad tablet and an $8 app, called Brushes. He only uses one finger as the brush, but judging by the detailed outcome, you’d think he has a whole set of professional tools and paints. According to English artist Kyle Lambert, he starts out by sketching the basic facial proportions. First, drawing simple lines where the mouth, nose and eyes. Besides, making sure he gets the shape of the sitter’s head just right.
Meanwhile, for the 2013 Macworld iWorld Expo in San Francisco Kyle Lambert created portraits of the 5 celebrity guests using my iPad. In particular, Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad, who were there to talk about their new movie about the life of Steve Jobs. And the other guests were Fred Armisen from Saturday Night Live, music producer and performer Will.i.am and Brian David Johnson, a future-hunter from Intel.

“It had been a while since I had done any iPad painting so I started off by exploring some of the new painting apps that were available. I eventually settled on using ProCreate for the paintings because it allowed me to build a series of custom paintbrushes similar to those I use in Adobe Photoshop on my Mac. I established a color palette for each painting and decided to explore a loose expressive style for the set”.
