Twin sisters Anna Grigorieva and Maria Kolegova (nee Grigoryeva) are from Kazan. Always together, Anna and Maria first studied in the children art studio, and later the art school. Together, dreaming of becoming artists they graduated from the Kazan Theater School.
From 2003 to 2006 they worked in a group of prop-decorators, participated in the design of city holidays, cafes, made dolls, decorations and sham items.
Meanwhile, seriously carried away by the author’s doll, they began creating handmade dolls in 2007. And already the next year they actively participated in exhibitions of applied art. In addition, the artists create interior designs, advertising, and theater puppets. They work in mixed technology with different materials (plastic, textiles, papier-mache). Noteworthy, all dolls – made by hand without using ready-made shapes.
Traditionally, the work is done in mixed media. Materials for the manufacture of dolls – papier-mâché, glue, wire frame, acrylic paints, varnish, natural tresses. Noteworthy, all dolls are not small – 49 cm.
