Fascinating dolls by Lena and Katya Popova
Such authors’ dolls – the result of long, painstaking work. Remarkable duo of sisters Lena and Katya Popova have created these Sub-Saharan Africa and Ancient Egypt dolls. These dolls, in particular, have chiseled hands and ankles, and a fragile neck. Besides, all made of plastic and on a solid frame. Also, the choice of material is wide: feathers, skin, bone, sand, shells, beads, papyrus, and gold leaf. Each character of the series is self-sufficient and unique, and each has a name and story, with a thoroughly thought out every detail of their costumes. Born and grew up in Perm, Russia, the twin sisters Kate and Lena Popova have been creating dolls since 2002.
