Lakes with water of amazing colors

Hillier lake on the edge of the middle island of the Recherche Archipelago, Western Australia, which stretches along the southern coast of Western Australia. The lake is well-known, thanks to the bright pink color of the water in it. The lake was discovered in 1802 by British explorer Matthew Flinders. The pink color is permanent, as it does not alter when the water is taken in a container.

The length of the lake is about six hundred meters. A narrow strip of land composed of sand dunes covered by vegetation separates it from the ocean. Unfortunately, today it is not known why the water in the lake is pink Hillier. The lake is one of the natural wonders of Australia.
