Craig Grant bought a piece of wood in Florida away from the city in order to turn it into a nursery for all rescued by him cats. He now lives there with the cats, and the cats give him the love, care and friendship. It’s hard to believe that once Mr. Grant did not like cats, until meeting with a cat named Pepper, acquired by his son. Craig was surprised to discover that each cat is unique with its character and manner of communicating. Within a few months Craig has saved a lot of stray cats, and when the space in the house was not enough, the idea was born to create a forest nursery. Mr. Grant has built many beautiful little houses for cats and decorated the area with flowers.

Craig Grant has his own website devoted to Caboodle Ranch Sanctuary. The owner describes his permanent sanctuary for cats who have been kicked around by heartless people. “There are many sad stories between all the cats I’ve taken in. Some almost starved to death, some of them wounded strays. I’ve seen many locked in cages for months in animal shelters and have taken in some of those too. Cats should be able to roam free, and at Caboodle Ranch, that’s what they do. We are in the middle of 100 acres of wildlife. The cats follow me through the nature trails that I put in and maintain, they climb in tree forts that I’ve built and hide in underground dens I’ve dug for them”.

Craig Grant says that all cats have been spayed or neutered, and he regularly visits the vet for each of the cat. “Every one of my expenses had come out of my own pocket and I do with very little so I can give them a happy life, but it isn’t always easy. Since “retiring”, I sold the business to my son and now work 7 days a week at the ranch, usually putting in 12 hour days, but I am happier than I have ever been, surrounded by so much love! The ranch now relies solely on your donations to care for the cats and continue to take in new ones”.
