A Sign In Space by Gunilla Klingberg and her tractor
Swedish born artist Gunilla Klingberg covers the sandy beaches with large-scale graphic star-patterns at Laga beach, Urdaibai, Spain. To do these sand prints, she uses beach cleaner tractor with special rubber fabric – nice and simple. in particular, this beach cleaner tractor drives from side to side on the beach in the morning. Besides, following the lunar and tidal calendar, Gunilla Klingberg remakes the pattern again and again at all possible days at low tide. Meanwhile, the visitors can enjoy the sand art installation “A Sign in Space” at Laga beach: 2nd, 14th, 15th, 16th, 30th and 31st August, 14th and 15th September. Unfortunately, the beautiful sand art installation is temporary, subject to winds and waves.

As the tide rises, the pattern composed with fragments of truck tires, gradually disappears. Following the lunar and tidal calendar, the artist remakes the patterns across the beach at every possible low tide. Besides, she prefers to work early in the morning.
