Yoan Capote Seascape from fish hooks
Contemporary artist Yoan Capote is from Havana, Cuba. A couple of years ago, the artist surprised the world with a new work Seascape Isla, created out of 500,000 fish hooks. Hammer and nails, bag hooks for fishing, a little paint and a huge sheet of plywood – are the main tools of the author and his 30 assistants, without whom he can hardly cope. Individual ingredient to this vast sea is “the blood of the artist,” sacrifice he couldn’t avoid.
